The color and flavor, of this uniquely tangy beverage is exotic, and very refreshing. It is actually the blossoms of the hibiscus plant. Healthy, (other than the sugar, but that you control) inexpensive, and very quick to prepare, you can find this at most Mexican markets, in their bulk isle.
1 cup Jamaica blossoms
1 pitcher of water, room temperature
sugar to taste
1/2 large lemon
1. Place blossoms in water
2. let stand 1 hour to steep
3. strain blossoms, and discard
4. Add lemon and sugar to taste.
Serve with ice
